Site Info - DarKDemoN
Here I am again, updating this site when I'm so completely bored that there is nothing better to do.  What this shows is that I'm not really dedicated to this site anymore, and I just don't feel the need or want to update Turok2 news.  Turok2 for the PC really sucks, and doesn't even compare to what else I could be playing.  I could get into a huge lengthy update on how the multiplayer engine works, but I've gotta be somewhere in about 30 minutes, so that will just have to be put off.  Anyway, what I'm saying is that I don't want to run this site anymore.  It would be a waste to just trash the whole thing, seeing as how I've spent a nice amount of time making the interface and such, so I'm asking if anyone out there wants to take over.  Before you e-mail me asking about what you have to keep, let me just say that when I say take over, I mean take over.  The whole thing is yours.  Change it all, have fun.  The only thing I require since I've put a great deal of work into getting this site up is that you leave some reference of the previous webmaster here, such as in the staff section, or anywhere else which would fit with your plans.  Anyway, if you're interested in taking this dump over, drop me some mail.  Till the next update...

Turok2 PC Patch - DarKDemoN
Acclaim has issued the first patch for the PC version of Turok2, this one will upgrade your multiplayer executable to v1.04 .  This patch only applies to American users of Turok2, as if you bothered to notice, your multiplayer executable is v1.03 .  Anyway, the patch addresses some problems, and better evens out the already damaged gameplay balance of Turok2.  Get it here.
Turok2 PC Demo - DarKDemoN
Acclaim has released the demo of Turok2 for the PC, and is available here.   Keep in mind, you need a Direct3D accelerator card to run this game.  If you are one of those people who has a 3DFX card and despises Direct3D, you're in luck, cause Turok2 also supports glide.

Since I've practically updated every section on this site, I decided to redo my Weapons Page.  It now contains full updated weapon info along with pictures for each weapon.

Turok2 Update - DarKDemoN
Well, it's been a while since I updated.  Anyway, Turok2 is supposedly shipping on February 9th, which can only be a good thing for me.  As for some updated features, it supports GameSpy(server searching program), and has a rework of the multiplayer to meet the standards of PC Multiplayer Gaming.  Sorry for not updating, but life has gotten in the way, and Turok2 hasn't been fascinating me enough to want to update.

Turok2 PC Info - DarKDemoN
Time for an update I think.  Well, it looks like Turok2 is going to ship soon, according to acclaimnation.com .   The PC version is going to support 16-player internet deathmatch, and we can only wait and see the system they built for it.  If they took some consideration into it, maybe they made a client->server interface with dedicated server support, possibly even going as for as to add some sort of Gamespy support(search for servers).  As for the textures, as we all know, a Voodoo2 can only support 256x256 textures, so I'm guessing Iguana redid them as well at that size.  The big thing for me if Iguana actually changed Turok2 around, and fixed some of the problems it had on the N64, which, from this release date, they most likely didn't.  Well, their you have it for the update on the PC version.  Keep checking back for that final release.
Jeff Gomez Stuff - DarKDemoN
Well this is a real nice fucking thing of Acclaim to do.  This is what I mean by console publishers, they don't give a shit about anything but the god damn money.   Acclaim couldn't care less if Jeff didn't get listed in the credits, the whole deal just means more money to them.  If console publishers actually cared about the quality of their games and the status of their staff, we'd start actually seeing some truly good console games.
MX300 Update - DarKDemoN
No problems still, every new thing I find out is just another reason to buy this card !   I finally got some headphones(KLH), and I must say, A3D 2.0 really kicks major ass.   I can't say much more about this card, but if you missed the first article, go read it.

New Cheats - DarKDemoN
Well, I'm probably the last one to add the latest cheats, but these are N64 cheats, so I wasn't as worried to get them up first.  So, check the cheats section for the new codes.
MX300 Information - DarKDemoN
My god, this is a VERY GOOD soundcard.  People, you may think you're fine with your current soundcard, and that for you, you really don't need anything better.  The MX300 proves you wrong.  This baby is loaded with so many features, it just overwhelmed me when I popped it in.  The first feature to grab me was that it includes drivers to stream 96 wave files in Windows95(or 98, or NT for that matter).   What this means is that you can play more than one wave file at a time in Windows.   To even greater simplify this, you can play MP3s and still get sounds out of Windows.  The next thing I gave a quick try was the wavetable.  This was unfortunately, one of the negative parts of the card FOR ME, as it seemed to not have as many instruments as my previous card, the Ensoniq Audio PCI(8 MB wavetable).   Currently, the MX300 supports 320 voices, which isn't bad at all, and their overall quality is very good.  Now, any self-respecting sub-woofer freak couldn't wait any longer to try out Aureal 3D 2.0 .  I booted up Half-Life(the only game supporting A3D 2.0 right now), and instantly checked the "Use A3D" box under Sound Configuration.  People, you haven't experienced the way sound was meant to be heard until you try Aureal 3D 2.0.  Every direction, front and behind, left and right, bottom and top, all presented flawlessly with this card.  With a pair of headphones(which I'm yet to have), you WILL play better.  Here's the downside to this tremendous experience: it kills your processor.  If you have a PII 450, you might notice a 2-4 FPS decrease with A3D streaming more than 3 sounds, but if you have a more believable PII 333 or PII 350 say, it hurts, bad.  I look at a decrease of 10-15 right now on my PII 333, and it only gets worse.  I have no idea if it matters, but currently the Monster PCI Audio Driver conflicts on IRQ 10 with my PCI Bus Steering Device, but I doubt that that has an affect on performance.  Other than the unfortunately obvious processor bashing, A3D 2.0 is the next generation in sound.  Now that I've explained that, I'll just briefly sum up what else I noticed with the card.  Damn, this thing let's you pump up the bass.  Containing a graphic equalizer for the whole sound system(including CD audio !), I pumped up the base, and damn does this sound good now.  I finally get a chance to work this great Boston Acoustics sub-woofer I have.  The software which comes with the card is excellent, not to mention it also includes Half-Life : Day One and Recoil, some tank game I have no interest in.  Well, I think I've covered most of the basic facts, I'll post more stuff or fixes if I find any.  Bottom line : go buy this card, no matter what you currently have.
