As told from Magicman's point of view

Time: Day of Wyvern's Light (8/24/98)

    Place: Road-Sign

On the morning of this dreadful day, Magicman had heard about an army of clones working their illegal magic to make more money. Upset by this news, he ventured into the cave and found a large army of people who all called themselves Duumy. When he shouted for them to halt and surrender, they refused. Magicman engaged on Duumy in battle, unarmed. Fearing it had lost, the Duumy jumped into the lake. Magicman followed a short distance behind and ended up on the other side of the cave where, the mastermind, Redtalon was waiting. He climbed out of the lake dripping wet and spied on the army of Duumy's and their leader. When the right chance came, Magicman went out into the open and stole 240,000 gold coins from right underneath Redtalon's nose. After swimming back to the other side of the cave, he alerted the knight, Floyd and Captain. Floyd transformed into DeathDealer with his magic and the three of them battled the vicious Duumy army in the caves. After they had battled as much as they could, they fled back to the road-sign where they shared the loot of 240,000 gold coins. Unfortunately, Zahnos spied their actions and stole all of the gold leaving only 100 of each type of coin for the three of them. Robbed of almost 80,000 gold coins each, they were infuriated but had little time to do anything due to the upcoming surprise attack. Redtalon was furious and called upon the forbidden force of the Terminators to inhabit the local animals. Suddenly, sentries and wyverns were bursting out from all sides attacking the people who inhabited the road-sign. The people defending their land fought as bravely as could be expected. Wave after wave of wyverns and sentries came pouring down killing several people. The people of Karchan also had their victory, killing several wyverns and finishing off all of the sentries. Unfortunately, many innocents dwelling at the road-sign were also slayed by the assailants. Eventually, Magicman discovered that the wyverns were originating in the cave and therefore started killing some there while the others fought fearlessly at the sign. After a few hours or so, he was forced to flee from the cave, but his strategy allowed for the pause in battle when the warriors could rest their muscles and minds. During this brief stand still in the battle, the powerful healer, Sive, went on her rounds, healing everyone to her full extent. Her soothing spells, salves, and scrolls allowed for the warriors to hold their position even longer. About an hour later, the battle resumed, but this time, there were less wyverns attacking which told them that they had gained the upper hand. Feeling fully refreshed the warriors made a valiant charge against the unsuspecting wyvern army, shattering them into fragment groups. Having divided the wyverns, the warriors excitedly finished the battle by conquering their evil foe. All but two wyverns were slayed in the final assault. One of the two was later encountered by the sorceress, Sive, and slayed by Amblix. The last one remained hidden and eventually found its way out of the Land of Karchan, perhaps to return another day...

The Battle of Wyverns' Gold was a costly one seeing as so many people were slayed and looted. Also, the gold stolen by Zahnos leaving the people with more of a loss than a gain. However, this mighty battle demonstrated how good could prevail over evil and thus boosted the morale of the warriors who fought.
